Stephen is a key member of Boyes Turner’s Professional Negligence team and is one of the region’s best known and most effective professional negligence litigation specialists. He has been helping clients obtain compensation from negligent professionals for nearly 15 years and specialises in cases involving solicitors and insurance brokers although his practice encompasses claims against all manner of professionals.
Stephen regularly obtains settlements for clients at all stages of claims before trial using mediation and negotiation. His trial record is exemplary and he has a track record of achieving six and seven figure compensation awards.
Stephen is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association.
Acting for two beneficiaries of a will in a claim against their solicitors for failing to correctly implement a deed of family arrangement leading to a substantial but avoidable liability to inheritance tax.
Stephen graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Natural Sciences from Durham University, and went on to complete Diplomas in Law for the Common Professional Exam, Law Conversion Course and LPC. In 1996 he joined Boyes Turner as a trainee. Qualifying in 1998 he became an assistant in the Dispute Resolution group and was promoted to associate in 2003. He became a CEDR accredited Mediator 2006.
Stephen has a keen interest in playing all racquet and bat and ball sports, badminton in the winter, tennis in the summer and table tennis in the garage. He is eagerly awaiting the day when his sons are old enough to join in.
